“Lonesome Dove” is to me the epitome of storytelling — the book is one of my favorites, too — and the performances are uniformly brilliant. If you haven’t watched it, it is the definition of MUST SEE.
Robert Duvall as Gus is simply the most astounding acting that I have ever seen. I had an opportunity to interview him several years ago, and he told me that not only was it his favorite role, it was also a bit depressing to think that he will never deliver another performance, or be cast for another role, that will match it.
Yet, I didn’t realize that Augustus McCrae also made a statement about the importance of customer service all those many years ago. We need to keep it friendly and speedy — and create Ultimate Customer Experiences — or else a retired Texas Ranger might make us pay!
