It’s simple, (INSERT FIRST NAME HERE), you must personalize!

Online Media Daily reports that ESPN discovered when they used the first name of the recipient in the subject line of an email message, the number of opening the ad jumped twenty percent.

Can you say…”Obvious“?

As we’ve discussed in regards to the Three Levels of Customer Interaction, an experience for the client is ONLY generated through emotion and personalization. If you don’t personalize…the customer doesn’t prioritize.

In other words, the more your messages seem intended for a specific customer or prospect, the greater the likelihood that individual will listen to what you have to say.

Next, I’ll bet we will have a study that reveals shocking evidence that customers also like it when you call them by name when they talk with you face-to-face. And, that they appreciate a sincere smile and personal connection. Amazing!

What’s sad is an organization — especially a respected one like Disney-owned ESPN — needed to commission a study to tell them what should have been common sense.
